UPDATE - May 2nd, 2017

We're delighted to say that we were 'Highly Commended' for our work with SABMiller in the Strategy category at the MCA Awards in April. Huge congratulations to the team involved; we're really excited about the results and pleased that our excitement is shared outside of this office!

__________

It's been a busy few weeks here at Cognosis: alongside starting up client projects again after the festive period, we've been working hard to get our new website ready for launch and preparing to speak at the Chief Strategy Officer Summit in London. To cap it all off, we're delighted to announce that we've just received three nominations for the biggest consulting awards in the UK, the Management Consultancies Association Awards.

We've been nominated in two categories - Best New Consultancy (to the MCA - we're nearly 20 years old now), and two projects have been put forward for the Strategy award, which considers the best 'demonstration of the development of a new strategy, or a major contribution to a critical aspect of a client's strategic thinking'.

Congratulations to the SABMiller team (Duncan, Chris, Yan & Harry) and those working on the project for a Leading home improvement company (Duncan, Amandeep & Pia) for some fantastic work.

We've just finished a round of interviews ahead of the awards evening on April 27th. In the meantime, it's a validation of the exciting things that the team are doing here.

You can read the project summaries below, look at SABMiller case study in more depth here, or check out the people behind it here. Fingers crossed for April!

SAB Miller (now AbInBev): A New Global Strategy for Beer

The beer category is in trouble. One of the oldest and widely consumed beverage types on the planet is slowly losing its stronghold on its traditional consumer. This introduces a challenge to brewers around the world. Our client needed to develop a strong long term strategy for beer which had buy in from decentralised markets and regions to implement it.

We worked closely with the client team to develop a category wide strategy which has promoted a united, insight driven approach to working, which has in turn delivered business and commercial results.

Disrupting Mindset & Method - A New Competitor Strategy for a Leading Home Improvement Company

Our client was feeling competitor pressure in one of its key markets. The new competitors were agile, offering products never before seen in the UK market.

We worked collaboratively with the company, disrupting everyday thinking to create an improved consumer offer that our client had deep belief in and was committed to deliver. The new strategy has now been implemented and has fundamentally changed the way the business operates, focusing on new, clear business priorities.
